Porcelain:
Only the finest glazed China Porcelain is purchased from various suppliers.

When I started the business, I searched for several Porcelain White Ware Suppliers on the Internet.I purchase from Maryland China, from Rynne China and from Cridge.
At first I purchased a variety of different items in small lots. Various shapes and sizes of Candy Dishes, various sizes and shapes of Trinket Boxes, different Ornaments and Porcelain Jewelry.
When I choose the pieces, I look at the shape and most important the most reasonable prices, in order to keep my cost down as well as yours, reflected in the selling price. Then I determine which of the pieces sell the best and order more.
Once the white ware arrives, after about 10 business days, I inspect it and put it in my inventory, which is organized by shapes and sizes.
Then the real work begins. The painting is done on a piece that is already glazed. I use powdered porcelain paints, which are mixed with special oils to a toothpaste consistency. Many of my colors I mix myself. The painting is done with great care and in great detail, with very small brushes. Only the best Sable brushes are used for Porcelain painting. It takes anywhere from 45 min. to two hours to paint one piece, depending on details. Birds, fairies and animals take much longer than any of my flowers. Many pieces are done in 3-4 stages with firings in between . I paint 6hours a day on the average and it takes me a week to 10 days to fill one Kiln.
After several pieces (about 20) are painted, they are loaded into the kiln, usually in three layers, separated by bisque shelves painted with Kiln Wash, sitting on bisque columns. Each piece is placed on a bisque stilt, to prevent it from sticking to the shelf during firing. The pieces are fired @ 1500F or higher, for about 3 hours, depending on the seize of the load. Both my Kilns have Kiln Sitters, which is a mechanism, that shuts the Kiln off automatically when the firing is completed. The Kiln is heated up in three sections, starting with the lowest, controlled by two switches set in time intervals of 30 min to 60 Min. The time and the heat are controlled by a cone. Cones come in different seizes, for different tasks. I use #16, # 17 and #18, for my porcelain firing, the lowest number being for the hottest temperature. The cone is held in the Kiln Sitter by two prongs and a metal rod resting on it. The prongs and the rod are connected to the triggering mechanism extending to the inside of the Kiln. In the heating process the cone softens and is bent by the hot rod laying on top of the cone. During the firing the lid of the Kiln stays slightly ajar and vent holes are open, for the toxins to escape. When the cone is bent @ a 45 degree angle it triggers the Kiln Sitter’s mechanism to shot off and firing is completed. Now the lid is lowered, the vent holes are closed, to keep the heat inside for curing and cooling over night. So far all my firings have been successful.

Hand Painting:
The Porcelain pieces then are meticulously and very detailed hand painted
with powder porcelain paint, mixed with specific oils.
Firing:
After the pieces are painted, they are fired at approximately 1500F for 3to5 hours,
depending on the of the sizes pieces and the sizes of the load in the kiln. The firing is done by myself, at my own home.
After the firing process the pieces are cooled down in the kiln for at least 12 hours.
Custom Orders:
I accept custom orders and also do individual personalizing.
Packaging:
Each piece is first packaged in a gift bag, with tissue paper. A business card is included
with each order.
